hi everyone....i just installed my tracks on j5 took it a drive but i get alot of cluncking noise when i turn but ok straight. how would i know if its inside drive gear or track too slack?
Noisy on turns, no noise going straight, guides hitting on the spring in a can, maybe if the tracks were really loose. Have someone watch each side as you move and turn, but I think its cover removal time.
I'm just finishing a diff swap in one of mine, it was a half worn diff ten plus years ago when I put it in, cover came off with the intention of bands only ,but the 6 pinions gears were worn pretty sharp. It would not have made the winter and I didn't want to loose my gearset to a piece of a broken tooth floating by.
