I got my check today. There are $200 plus dollars that are missing. It was my commission portion. I only got $57 in Commission!!!!!!
I called up corporate and asked whats going on. They said because certain back-end money on my deals werent put through at a certain time by the mfr/vendors I was NOT eligable to get a portion of that money!!!!! :soapbox: SON OF A BITCH!!!!!!!!!!!!
Im only making $30K/year and NOW they SCREW me on my commission!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
**** THIS COMPANY! I worked my ass off. I had to deal with this asshole coworker who comes in late... leaves early, takes 2 hour lunches and doesnt do SHIT the whole day, has an inside rep do his quotes and fix his problems, but was given a $60K a month account. He got HIS ****ing commission! I have to spend days cold calling.... doing my own quotes and solving every little damn problem! And that guy has been here 2 month LESS than me!!!
I soooooooooooooooooooo want to quit right now!!!!! Im sick of this!!!!!!!! :soapbox:
 
will you get the back end money next month maybe. I know the sales dude where I was always was loosing bonus money due to orders not being entered in time.............
 
Talk to someone at the Labor Board, see if you've got any way to recover your losses.
Start lookin' for a new job, when you find it, don't give notice, just hand your keys back and sing Johnny Paycheck's memorable song; Take this job and shove it!!!!!!
 
Having worked commission, unless you know all the fine print of your agreement, this is bound to happen.

My $.02 of advise is get out of the commission sales field, unless you work for yourself. There are too many mouths to feed above you.

Nope. They say its now or never. This isnt eve MY fault! These guys could (and probably are) lie about it because I dont know when they DO put in the backend $$$$.

I dont know of another job I could do besides sales where I could make good $$$$. I cant go back to school either. I feel like Im trapped like a RAT.

You said earlier that you make $30K a year plus commision and your commision this check should have been $257. I am not trying to be insulting by what I am about to say, so please don't take it that way, but it doesn't sound like you are doing real well with this company. Do you have an up to date resume`? Are you actively looking for a new job?

Im doing pretty well with the company as far as my effort. I have stayed here longer than any other candidate and have done better than them too. But I need a LARGE client like the people that have been here for 5 plus years to really make anything. I need to get $50k in MARGIN a month to equal a total amount of pay/year of $65K!!!!
These other guys had their accounts pretty much given to them over the years. They dont even make cold calls anymore!!!! And they rake in $150,000- $550,000 year!!!!!
But they are like vampires that suck the clients of people like ME after they quit! Im working my ass off to get a large client so I dont have to leave here. My manager has told me I get more appointments than the whole team COMBINED. And I close new business. But it comes down to is all of this HUUUUUGE amount of stress worth this money?
 
no amount of money is worth stress sushi........you deserve better so go make it happen(easier said than done i know).

have a good look round and see if you can find easier hours for the same pay and realy think about further education of some kind.....mostly find happiness.

Your sentiments make me want to ask, "What money?"

Polish the resume and go elsewhere.

You have a 4-year degree, right? That is a door opener no matter what it's in. Look over the paper and think outside the box, and get out of commission sales. For every big earner in commission sales, there are 20 that starve to death (like you are doing now).
 
Heck, I would be willing to look at your resume` as I am sure others here would also. We could take a look at with an outsiders perspective and help you refine it. You can try to make something happen or sit there and be miserable.

Another option, have you ever considered the military?

Don't let go of one branch until you have a firm grasp of another branch.

Maybe I pay my employees too much. I can't run them off with a big stick! Wanna go to work for me so I can pay somebody too little? :bonk: :tiphat:
 
Dargo, if you've got loyal and responsible employees, you have a valuable asset to your business. Therefore, what you pay them is, indeed, and investment. Sounds like it's paying off too! Which is more than a lot of folks can say about investments they've made.

Sushi,

Not to sound like a record of others, but $30 K a year isn't what I would call good $$$. Pretty much the lower end of the sales racket as I see it. If you can sell where you are at now, you can sell anywhere.

You need to put out some feelers on other job search sites. Tractors4u gave you a very good site to start at: www.usajobs.gov

The real low end of the sales racket is well under a $20K salary plus a percentage of the commissions made on sales. Been there done that with a company once. They cared more about their favorite sales people than the newbies coming along. Bide your time, be pleasant and bid their sorry asses goodbye the first chance you can. Make sure you find yourself another better paying job first. Don't jump at the first thing that comes along either.

Careful Sushi, I've heard that when you work for Dargo your co-workers are heavily armed and have a knack for tazing people over casual drinks.

It must be dangerous - even WW is denying any knowledge of signing a confidentiality agreement!

I've been robbed, too! An entire third of my paycheck is missing (more than $200)! I know who took most of it, though. He was so brazen as to put his name next to what he took. Gotta go find this F. E. Deral sucker and get my money back! :mad:
