Back in the 1930's when Mayor LaGuardia ran New York City, he was overheard to say "G-d put it there.... let G-d take it away..." when asked when the streets would be plowed.
Actually we have about a foot of snow near the house where it has been blowing around. I have no idea of how much is on the driveway out to the main road. I am not a believer in the saying "plow with the storm" because when I do, I usually get stuck and have to walk back to the house. If I wait till it stops, then I can better see where I am going and I don't get stuck. I haven't gotten stuck in better than 10 years now for that reason and also because I put studded snow tires on the truck. I used to have these wide snow tires with chains, and I was always getting stuck. Now I have narrow 8 ply studded tires and no problems. The last storm, I didn't even use the truck, since I wanted to know if the Kubota snow blower could handle it. Did a great job, but it did take a lot longer. I usually do the edges with the snow blower after I plow. That keeps the road open and no snow banks to fight with the next storm. My cab is installed and it is a delight to use. This spring when it gets warmer, I will install the heater for next snow season. Junk...
