Its a sad "snow day" in N.W. Indiana

We've had good storm roll thought the area the last 24 hours, lots of blowing and drifting. My wife's school was cancelled so she's off for the day. My daughter's school, which is in Illinois, is not cancelled because we got "lake effect" snow in Indiana and they got flurries in Illinois!!!

So my wife is home, cozy, with a fire burning in the fireplace. I took my daughter to school and didn't bother to return home. My Snow Trac is sitting on the lift, up over the lawn tractor and the Yamaha UTV.

I'm in no hurry to get the Snow Trac down off the lift, I can't get it out of the garage :hammer:

In front of the overhead door is a pile of construction lumber for the garage expansion we have in progress so until the contractors remove that pile of lumber I'm pretty much stuck without my toy. I had barely enough room to get my tractor out to plow the driveway yesterday, but there is a stack of 2x lumber in front of the Snow Trac door that is now frozen to the ground under a tarp, under a snow drift.

I found myself in just the opposite situation yesterday. I had the Tucker out in front of my shop ready to go and not a flake of snow anywhere!

A lack of planning on your part is not our problem. Sounds like Big Al who has a Krusti that can't get out of the garage on it's own!:whistling::yum::yum::yum:

Better hope for a few days of thawing, and be ready when it does. I seeded 35 acers of C.R.P. 2 Sundays ago, on the only day the ground was not frozen. Had to wait till after Nov. 15th as directed by NRCS. Kinda like farming, mother nature has a way of catching you with your drawers down around your ankles once in a while.:glare: Keeps you awake to her at all times, if you have things to do outside, especially this time of year. Good luck....

I know the feeling. Went out this morning and 5 acres of snow peas bit the dust from the winds and cold we had here. No water or ice to protect them.
Oh well, back to the old drawing board.

Hope you can get the snowtrac out before I come over, or shall I bring mine?
Look for the positives, if it is stuck in the garage you won't run out of gas!:whistling::yum::yum:
Shall I bring some petrol (gas)? And a stick to dip the tank with?
Notice he has not replied? Must be out shoveling the snow off the wood!
My home internet has a rooftop antenna and we thought it was frozen with a thick layer of ice, turns out the strong wind gusts blew the antenna off direction so I'm waiting for a repair call to fix it. In the mean time I'm sitting at the cigar lounge just loving how everyone picks on poor little me and my stuck (in the garage) Snow Trac.

I thought we were all supposed to pick on BigAl and his Krusty :hammer:

Anita, we have snow, supposed to get 3 to 4 more inches tonight but there is no way that I can get the Snow Trac out of the shop right now. You might have to bring yours over from Wales in a couple weeks when you fly over. I'll supply the gas :whistling:

You have a tractor with a loader and you can't move that pile of lumber? Must be afraid the snow would show up that snowcat!:whistling:

don't worry at least some of the snow tracs are out their showing up the kristi crowd jimvt is out in his and so is 300h&h and of course mine is my only transportation for now again i burned a pistion in my diesel so it's down till i get a new motor built for it so just let yours rest that way you don't have to worry about running out of gas

I shall be so disappointed if there is snow and a snowtrac and the two can't be brought together to play, does a snowtrac qualify for 'carry on' as I don't fancy it getting the treatment my suitcase did when I last flew to America?
