Items not put in the correct spot!!

BigAl

Gone But Not Forgotten
I hate that !!!

Home Depot is a 125 mile trip , one way , for me . It is so much cheaper to buy there as we have no big hardware stores to speak of and the selection is better .
So I usually check each item to make sure it is what it says . I buy all the water shut off valves fot the sinks and tiolets . Check the first one to make sure it's the size I want . Get home and realize that someone mixed two different sizes in the same bin and now I have 1/2 that will not workwith my water supply lines.

It may not even be the fault of home Depot but a customer that decided he wanted a different size and put them in the wrong bin . I see this all the time with cabinet hardware hinges .
So now I have to go back and from now on plan to inspect each item seperately to make sure I get what I thought I bought in the first place .

Its a good thing I had ordered some other stuff that finally came in to the store and have to go make the trip tomorrow anywhere , or I would be pissed .

Try browsing the hardware bins at TSC for bolts and look at the mess folks make of them. The other thing that really fries my ass is when you call them to check on availability of an item. They will say OK the computer says we have 3-5 on hand and you get there and they can't find any. That is why I call TSC and make them check that what I need is there and put it in a hold bin for me. The kids they hire these days have no clue what the item you need even is shaped like let alone if it will work for your needs.:hammer:

I run into that all the time too. Go to buy 4 Straight valves and I end up with 1 straight and for angle valves. I have to look at every item to make sure it's what I want.

Always thread the nuts onto the bolts to make sure they fit. I always assemble everything while I'm shopping and try to test fit as much as possible. It happens everywhere.

Seems folks today can only visually put things that look close in the same bins. I have straightened out a lot of hardware while getting the right items. Folks can't tell a UNC from a UNF thread let alone mteric ones. My buddy Tommy made me up some stick stoppers for my RTV. He put in 4 metric bolts and nuts in the same bag with a bunch of 1/4-20 ones. The last and hardest to reach one I ended up trying to put an inch nut on a metric bolt while lying on my back under the damn thing. Messed with it for a good 5 minutes till i figured out what was up.

I rode out to get an inner tube for my sons bike, bought it and rode home and it was a completely diffrent tube in the wrong box. Think someone was trying to be funny.

Problly that damn Bush , He,s a sneaky one I here :w00t2:

A few months ago in Home Despot I picked up an item I wanted to buy. The box had obviously been opened, so I checked it. The box contained a cheaper version of the item. I asked one of the help about it and he said it was probably a return; that someone probably got a refund for the higher priced item.

Gotta check everything carefully.
