I voted yes, but I'm not that definitive. I think it will continue to be an ugly issue in that part of the world for a long long time.

From the article it is not the common man speaking but rulers of nations. I like it! I'm sure it's wishful thinking but , yes, it could happen.
It is nice to read something showing they can think outside of the box, rather than blindly following the party line from generations ago.

I am a member of a chat room in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. I was welcomed there with open arms and everyone there has been great to me. I've had many good discussions over there. But I quit the site today.

One of the members, a college student, had a photo in his signature line. I asked him, very respectufully to remove it. I got back hate (not from him, but from another college student). The silent majority remained silent. My friends over there did not speak up. They sat back and watched as one person spewed hate, cited al-jazzera and blamed all the people she didn't know. She said I was a friend. But when I countered with the fact that she hates my wife, my brother and my sister she basically said that he can hate the people he does not know.

The whole time she stated she hated Americans and Jews, she defended her friendship with me??? She and I had traded messages many times and she was one of the first to welcome me there.

I don't think that the silent majority of Muslims will do a damn thing. I still don't believe that every Muslim is evil and wants to kill every non-Muslim, but perhaps many more believe in those things than I would have previously believed.

Below is the photo I asked to be removed.

Yes, I believe it. I've been a member of a Tunisian forum for about 8 months, and was really surprised to see the division. As to whether or not the silent majority will speak up to promote change, my guess is yes, but that will take some time.

The jist of the article states that there is a silent majority of arabs that do not want the islamofacist way of life to continue.

Does anyone believe this?

I didn't/don't go to the link, but I believe "that there is a silent majority of arabs that do not want the islamofacist way of life to continue.". Whether they stand up and are heard is another story.

Only when their backs are to the wall and a chambered bullet is at the forehead.........Then maybe.......Or not.....Just my .02 worth......
