iPad flew off roof of my car onto 4 lane highway ~ and survived!

OK well yes, let it be said, I am an idiot for setting my iPad on the roof of the car in the first place.

But with that now out of the way, here is the story.

Had my hands full, was taking the dog to the vet, laundry to the dry cleaner, blah blah blah. Set the iPad on the roof of the car and forgot it. It was inside a plastic clamshell "ZAGG ProFolio" case.

The ONLY reason my iPad survived is because of that little clamshell case!

To be sure, the case is trashed. It shattered three of the 3 corners. Cracked the side too. The thin decorative leather finish we scuffed and torn, and the leather being glued to the plastic was the only thing actually holding the pieces together. But it kept the shock to the iPad low enough to keep it functioning at 100%. There is not even a scratch or scuff on the iPad.

This is the type of case, it comes in several finishes and has real leather as an upgrade too: [ame]http://www.amazon.com/ZAGGkeys-PROfolio-Keyboard-Case-Cover/dp/B00AI3RRAA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1396475750&sr=8-1&keywords=zagg+ipad+keyboard[/ame]

Oh, and I've already ordered another one :flowers:

If you have an iPad, and if you have ever dropped it, banged it or bounced it, get yourself a ZAGG case!

Looks like a cool case. Did you take lessons from Big Dog? Was just reading over the old FF get together thread and seems he did the same thing with a laptop

That's quite a testimonial for that case. :thumb: :tiphat:

seeing as Big Al likes to copy your mistakes, remember running out of gas. how long before he leaves his laptop on the top of his ford?

Well if he leaves his computer on top of the King Ranch then I hope he has it in a ZAGG case :hammer:

Oh, according to Amazon I should have my replacement case by the end of the week.

Knowing Allen he is still using a tower probaly has it painted orange with a couple of wood blocks to hold it off the floor

I really like the looks of that case. I have one that is used by my son in Afghanistan, the Griffin Survivor Extreme Duty Military, but I would like to use a keyboard with my iPad. I understand why, when trying to get the military to purchase their product, that Griffin did not leave accomodations for a bluetooth keyboard, but I'd prefer using a keyboard. Here is what I have [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Griffin-GB02480-Survivor-Extreme-duty-Generation/dp/B004SPVZKW"]Griffin Extreme Duty Military[/ame] They even have one that Bob would like [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Griffin-Survivor-Extreme-Duty-Military-GB35379/dp/B0085M1LL2"]Extreme Duty for Bob[/ame]

They offer great protection and, obviously, must keep out sand and other common elements as well as protecting the iPad. Still, I prefer your Zagg case. I simply quit buying Zagg products a couple of years ago because of constant problems with their "military grade" screen protectors that always peeled up from the edges. Sure, they are under Zagg warranty, but you pay almost $9 'shipping' to get a replacement sent to you. I've found cling on mat finish ones I like much better for my phone 3 for $5. Screensaver issues aside, I like that case.

I need a keyboard. Can't stand trying to 'type' on the screen!

But I've NEVER had my Zagg screen protector peel up/off at the corners. In fact I have no reason to put the new one on when my new case arrives because the original one is still in great shape. Maybe they improved them?

Maybe they improved them?

I dunno. I became disenchanted with Zagg after screensaver failures on my iPhone, my Kindle Fire HDX, my wife's Galaxy phone and my daughter's phone; all repeatedly, and then having Zagg stab me with more than what the dang things cost for their "free" replacement.

However, like you, I do NOT like trying to type on a tablet. Does that iPad case come without any screen protection? Perhaps I may try the case, but I'm not willing to go for a 5th "burn me" on their screen protectors.

The case itself doesn't have an integral screen protector. The original one I purchased came with a stick on film type screen protector. Not sure if the new one still comes with the stick on film protector. The new one has an improved keyboard with backlighting and magnetic locks instead of a plastic clasp, don't see that they include a film screen protector.

If you don't mind, lemme know when you get your replacement. Although I am well pleased with the toughness of my 'military' case, I'd give it up for a good case that included a keyboard. :flowers:
