Internet explorer

I cant get it to shut down. Why is that?

I had it happen to me a couple of times and gave up going to firefox which is slow, struggles dealing with youtube but does work somewhat. I'm forced however to use IE 9 to view youtube and other videos on line as flash works with it. I tried Chrome too but found that just impossible to use since I couldn't even get a menu bar or favorites to save in it. At least with Firefox and IE I can move favorites back and forth so both have the same things.

Hi Joe, yea I am on firefox right now too, going to try to get in the habit of using it, IE is as slow as dial up sometimes. Guess I will just have to force it to shut down.

Mak - have you tried going to "Ctrl Alt Del" and running the task manager ? You should be able to shut down IE from there.

Thanks I will try it. If you dont see me again for a while, my computer blew up. Hey this aint a trick is it...

Yup, finally figured out how to do that.

Mak, I'd stick with Firefox.
IE sucks for the most part, but that's just my opinion.

For some reason I can download YouTube Videos when I use the Fire Fox browser but not when they are on IE. I think it has to do with my laptop running 64 bit my old laptop runs 32 bit and I can download them when I am on IE with that laptop.
I also got the message that my Firefox "plug ins" were out of date. I updated them & then could not download YouTube Videos. So I did a system restore and can again. So outdated or not I am leaving Firefox alone.

Maybe a clue here. I presume that you are running windows 7, 64 bit. In that case, you actually have tow Internet Explorer browsers on your PC. A 32 bit and a 64 bit. The 64 bit one is quirky. In fact, there are a number of sites that will not run on it.

I am not in front of a Windows 7 machine at the moment. They should be labeled though. Try clicking help > about.

Hope this helps.
