Hi, I'm Kerstin and I'm 21 years old. I live in Cebu, Philippines, but I'm Swedish (originally from the wonderful city of Uppsala). I'm in the second term of my filmmaking degree at the International Academy of Film and Television(IAFT). Busy researching for my screen writing class. I'm interested in other peoples suggestions for a good feature. Always good to get together with like-minded folk.

Welcome to FF Kerstin. I don't have any suggestions for you, just wanted to say Hi.

thanks for droppin by.
hope u had one for me but its ok.
just in case somthin pops up in your mind, feel free to share..

i appreciate the warm welcome.

Hi Hyper! Welcome to FF. I'm glad you found us.

I spent some time in the Philippines compliments of the US Navy during the Viet-nam conflict. How about a feature on Olonapo city / Subic Bay. Millions of US sailors where there from the mid 60's to the mid 70's. Now that the US Bases have been closed over there what has happened to those areas? I for one would sure watch a feature on that.
Good luck with your film making.

One another note, but along the same line, I put a request out to my FF members requesting a Youtube video that mentions www.forumsforums.com somewhere in the film. That would really be awesome. The more clips with FF mentioned the better. Would you be interested in doing that?

Enjoy and post often. :thumb:

Kerstin, Welcome to the forum - suggestions would depend on what genre you're looking at for the feature and how long.
comedy, romance, drama, adventure, sci-fi, all of the above?
local to the phillipines, something closer to your native culture?

also - you say screen writing, not filming, so can you take a short story or novella and rewrite it for a screenplay, or does this have to be a completely original work?

if adaption, it would be fairly simple to modernize a great many classic works of literature, such as The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka, anything by Jorge Borges, or possibly William Porter.

If documentary type things, perhaps something showing a correlation between loss of native habitat and extinction events among indigenous cultures around the world -- Bushmen, Pygmies, Inu, Sami, etc...

then there's always the classic bumbling criminal type shoot em ups ala CLint Eastwood's "Any Which Way" movies, "lock, stock and 2 smoking barrels" or "the way of the gun".

hope this helps.
and keep us posted!

Kerstin, welcome. Always like new faces and new topics to talk about. I have relatives in Sweden also. Stockholm. My grandfather came over years ago and settled in America. Again Welcome.
