Does Anybody Know of an engine that is an in line 6 cylinder that will bolt up to my bell houseing? Also what is the engine in it its a 1600cc thats all I know? Thanks:biggrin:

My 1973 SV200 (by Bomardier) has a 6-cylinder Ford engine with a C-6 transmission. I don't know if the Bombi used a similar combination, but forum member Boggie could certainly tell you as could other forum Bombi owners. This forum also has a "classified" section in which you could post a "wanted" notice.

bombies used a manual transmission i also can't remember but i think they also used a reverse rotation engine i remember something being different between the bombi engine and the automotive engine but cant remember for shure.

ps if it is a standrad rotation engine than any engine that will bolt into a mustang 2 or pinto would work i also think an inline 6 will be out of the question but look at a 2.8 2.9 or 4.0 v-6

If you have the factory engine it is a 1.6 liter Ford industrial(Kent crossflow)
it is a British engine, what is wrong with it ? most all part are available still?

others have put 2.3 liter engines in and it 2 cases I have seen a V-6 and a V-8
but do not recommend either. the drive train just can not handle it very well.( axles )
try to keep it to a 4 you can put most anything in if you put the tranny that goes with it in . it does require the drive line to change but not huge.

1970 and 1971 Ford Pintos used a 1.6 liter inline four. Whenever I get parts for my 1981 Bombi, I go to NAPA and ask for the 1971 Pinto part - it hasn't failed yet. That said, it may be difficult to find a good (or even good rebuildable) 1970/71 Pinto engine. My truck mechanic is a Ford nut and owns some old Pintos - if you get desparate let me know and I can ask him if he has one.
