Gone But Not Forgotten
About 6PM I was sipping on a Dr Rum and looked out the front window . Had a herd of about 15 elk in the front yard . Now they are usually pretty difficult critters to sneak up on , but I decided to try . I slowly walked out the front door and walked over to the deck chair and sat down in plain sight . I had Elk feeding within 15 yards of me !!! They could have cared less that I was there .It was more fun than watching TV by a damn sight !!! They really have quite a personality . Mini fights were breaking out for the salt block and the best eating area . Watching them pin their ears back and challenging any tresppassers to their feeding area was comical . Here's a old picture of a typical evening around here .

They tame down during off season. What I did was get in the center and spooked them. A full size one running fast past you just a couple yards away really changes your mind about messing with them.
