I quit smoking cigars ~ not happy about it!

Every year for the Lenten season (before Easter) I give up cigars. But its not Lent.

The lovely Mrs_B has been complaining that I've been smoking too many cigars, so when a couple kids on the high school fencing team agreed to quit smoking cigarettes if I quit smoking cigar I decided to take them up on the bet. My logic was they would start smoking before I would. Well its been over a week and I'm still not smoking. I honestly thought they would start up again. There are enough kids on the team to 'rat them out' that I believe they are not smoking. So neither am I.

The problem is that we have some REALLY GOOD cigars in stock right now. I've even accumulated some special cigars that are not commonly available in the US :whistling:

So every day I sit in the cigar lounge and chat and drink coffee . . . but I'm not smoking.

Damn kids.

Kind of hard to evaluate new stock and new releases without smoking them isn't it?:whistling:You could send them to me for evaluation!:clap:

All I can say is Kudos to you MD for knowing whats more important. There are very few people that are fit to be role models these days this seems to be your chance. :tiphat:

Well I only agreed to do this until the end of the fencing season (at which point I will lose all contact with these kids until NEXT YEAR). But I figured it the right thing for the kids. I didn't want to be 'their excuse' to smoke. And I know there are huge differences between cigar & cigarette smoking (you don't inhale cigars) but still it seemed like the right thing to do.

The problem is that fencing season ends JUST BEFORE the beginning of the Lenten season so I've got a small window of time to enjoy some cigars before I have to quit again.

It just doesn't seem fair.

Doc. bugged me until I gave them up even though I usually smoked less than 6 a year. So no smoking no drinking and now I am trying to lose weight. Ain't life fun?

As for losing weight, I went on a low-carb low-fat diet and dropped 20 pounds.

Now I'm maintaining that 20 pound drop by having a modestly low carb diet. At 6' tall I'm right about 187# with a waist size of 34. Most of my pants now look like clown pants on me!!!

As for the cigars, at least I get to smell them in the cigar lounge!!!

they may be vaping nicotine as it is not smoking, and is a very trendy thing to do,not to mention better for their health.:yum::yum:
