I just had to....

...I couldn't let this little guy be put down. A co-worker of mine is in the process of moving to the city into an apartment. She can't take her dog with her. They tried for a week or so to find him a new owner with no luck so far. They were close to putting him down so I volunteered to foster him until a home can be found. He was in need of a good bath and a haircut. His name is Scruffy. He is roughly 8 yrs old. He needs a home. I'd keep him but Hershey doesn't like him as much as we do and has tried to attach the poor thing already a couple times. They're getting along now but I don't want to take a chance. Hershey's only done that with a couple other dogs since we've had him. He's been great with most other dogs except this one and my bro's little yappy hound dog.

Give Hershey and Scruffy a chance Brian!

You never know, they might end up being best friends. :)
You did a wonderful thing for that beautiful dog in taking him in.
I say KEEP him, and try to make it work.. if you really want to, of course.

We'll see how things go. We don't really want another dog. We're just helping out a friend/co-worker till we can find a good home for him. Who knows.....we may decide to keep him if we can't find a home for him. I had a sheltie and a yellow lab at the same time before. They liked each other though.

good looking dog, there.
maybe you should get him a couple range maggots so he doesn't look so bored?

The longer you keep him Brian, the more you're going to fall in love with that fuzzy face.
What are you going to do if he and Hershey are bonded by tomorrow?
You'll be a two dog happy family, that's what!
You're too special not to have a doggie who needs a home- having a new Daddy.

Here's a quick update on Scruffy. I wasn't able to keep him long at my place as Hershey did not like him at all and tried to rip his head off 4 times. One of my co-workers volunteered to take him for a bit while I worked at finding him a home. I'm happy to say that he now has 3 potential new homes in the city and will be heading that way tomorrow. I would have kept him myself but with Hershey attacking him like that, it wasn't fair to him at all and I don't want Hershey to become aggressive since he's always like a big teddy bear around my kids.

The weird thing is that my MIL was here last week with her 2 small yappy mutts for the week and Hershey was completely fine with them.
