Well the picture shows (barely) that it has tracks, so based on the photo I'd guess that has most of the parts, that makes life easier for a restoration. The engine is basic VW industrial but can be swapped with the more common VW air cooled 4 bangers so even if the engine is bad it can still be brought to life pretty cheaply by simply popping in an old air cooled boxer engine.

I'd say you have a fun project ahead of you!

I also saw this Sno-Trac a couple years ago travelling back to Smithers, BC. I turned around and left my info at the house. The owner called me a couple days later to tell me that he felt it was worth $8-10K. I thanked him for responding and wished him luck on his sale. I was hoping he might let it go for cheap...
