This week I finally traded off my 99 Polaris Sportsman atv for a new Suzuki Kingquad 4X4 atv. The old Polaris has been being getting difficult the past couple years and was to the point I did not trust it anymore. I shopped 3 other brands which were Yamaha, Polaris, and Kawasaki and decided the Kingquad was my choice after riding the new models at the dealerships. I really wanted to look at the new Arctic Cat atv's but we have no dealer anymore in the nearby town I went to this week.
The features I liked best about the Suzuki are the locking differentials, larger seating for two than the Yamaha, the price was better for a full feature atv, manual rope start if required, the instrument panel is easy to see, wide handle bars, large foot area, and the legendary Kingquad off road abilities. The Yamaha Grizzly with power steering was sweet but also about $1800.00 more in price. Hell, I am a man and I don't need power steering on my atv. Maybe Pigtails won't steal this one if it does not have power steering. The Polaris was a very nice 07 leftover model but the price was still about $900.00 more than the 08 Kingquad. Time will tell if I made the right decision. We use our atv's almost daily where we live and use them hard during mud season when the snow is leaving/gone and we can not drive either the snow cat or a regular vehicle in and out of home.
Pigtails has been after me for two years to get a new one but she kept her 99 Polaris Sportsman???? As usual the female gets her way. I am sure a new something will appear for her benefit. I just hope it is not my new atv that she appropriates.
