I coach at Purdue University (main campus) and Uof Illinois/Chicago, but . . .

I've been enlisted to start a new fencing team at, yet another college campus.

Purdue Northwest, located much closer to my home, is looking at starting some sort of a fencing club. It is a brand campus, an offshoot from the main campus in West Lafayette. But I have former students at the P.N.W. campus, and proximity is much closer to where I live. Hard to turn down the opportunity to coach another club.

Pretty sure I might be biting off more than I can chew but I think the opportunity is fantastic to try. Maybe if I enlist other coaches to help? Maybe if I can get them to practice at my club instead of traveling the short distance to their club?

Seems like, because of proximity we can work out a club level program?

At your age? ( sorry 'bout that)....;

Most people your age are sitting on their laurels.

Not you at all.
Starting something fresh, in a field you excel, & putting your name on it....!!!! :clap:
That is you.... (y)
Yeah, go for it!

Just trying to make the world a bit better in my own way.

One kid at a time.

Yes I am retired. But I still like to hit kids with metal sticks :poke: and repeatedly until they learn the correct technique and then excel at the sport they have chosen.

This is now theatrical swashbuckling. This is an Olympic event. I have 2 kids currently on track to try to qualify for the next Olympics. Not sure either has the fortitude or drive. We shall see.
