When my wife passes away God rest her soul but all of these credit card companies, phone companies and other companies that refuse to talk to me because my name is not on the papers I will say the same thing to them when they call looking for money. I am sorry I can't talk to you because my name is not on the papers. :hammer::hammer::hammer::hammer::hammer::hammer::hammer::hammer:

Try dealing with doctors, hospitals or online pharmacies. They all get so crazy about privacy rules anymore it is ridiculous. I have been signing her name for 35 years and she can do mine when she has to. The bankers always tell you it is illegal and she tells them it is easier than dealing with me when I am pissed off.:yum: The phone company would not tell her our new phone number when we built this place and she still can't remember the cell phone number without looking it up in the rolodex.:whistling: She has never signed a tax return since we have been married either.
 
I just remembered something that happened when I first opened my business. Very small one man operation. I picked a job from a local utility for their offices. I delivered the order and gave the receptionist the invoice and waited. She asked me what I wanted, I replied, to get paid. Of course big outfits never do COD. Remembering some nasty collection calls when times were lean, I informed her that "they" did not have an account with me. The boss was called and said she would personally follow the invoice through. I thanked her ( I had my fun) and left. Two weeks later I receive a check for $225 (pd in full). About 60 days later I receive a second check for the same amount. Now I have a dilemma, as I am a new business and I have no policy for this, and remembering the grief caused to my wife by this big utility. I decided the only fair thing was to adopt their policy, so I deposited the second check, wrote out a receipt issuing them a credit on account and put it in my file. Where it sits to this very day 16 years later. :biggrin:
 
It is a simple fix, when they call just tell them to talk to the boss and hand her back the phone. It has worked for me now for 48 years.
 
actually, if your names not on the CC, you're not responsable for it (atleast in this state)
My father died with about 15k in a few CC, in his name only, and they couldn't collect.
 
Thri I run a phone company If my Mom comes to the counter she has to give me a password before I can give her account information. We were ignoring this until we were threatened with a serious fine from the FCC NAZIS. Now we make everyone's password
