Hunter Biden jury sworn in

I wouldn’t bet on a guilty verdict. He’s guilty as sin but will play a victim card.

Yep. His whole defense will be that he was on drugs and so can't be held accountable for his actions. Poor Hunter. Such a victim.

Just a side note to compare 2 trials:

This Hunter Biden jury is in very liberal Delaware where the Biden family is actually popular and Joe Biden overwhelmingly won in his last election. Delaware is a Biden family home state of residence, despite the "old Joe from Scranton" campaign theme. The prosecutor is a Trump appointee but that is no certain bet that he is going to go hard on a member of the Biden family. The judge seems to be attempting to play neutral and following the rule of the law with regards to pre-trial motions, despite the fact that I believe she is a Democrat.

Trumps jury was in NYC, in an area where he only won 5% of the popular vote. So it would have been difficult to find an unbiased jury in the Trump trial. The prosecutor in the Trump trial ran a campaign on "getting" Trump. The prosecutor was clearly hostile to Trump. The judge in the trial is not only a Biden donor, but also his family members made substantial amounts of money off the trial. The judge, based on the jury instructions and based on several rulings during the case, including all sorts of non-material evidence, was clearly hostile toward Trump.

That is a good comparison, and there was a time when all of that did not matter. Justice was blind, and the purveyors of justice ignored politics in favor of justice. Sadly, we have seen an erosion of that standard, and we are becoming a nation of men instead of laws. I can only hope that the American people will wake up to it soon enough and demand a return to fair justice under the law.

Just another show trial except this one will be a Not Guilty verdict.
Just viewing this from a political perspective, if the Dems had any real brains, they'd ensure Hunter was found guilty, because then they could say "see, even a Biden is held accountable under the law, so it's fair, and so Trump's trial was also fair." But, when Hunter is found not guilty, it will forever serve as an indisputable comparison that will convince the fence sitters, and even some on the left currently, that the prosecution of Trump has really been a persecution fueled by a corrupt left. Many people, including many people of color, have gone to prison for illegal drug and gun possession. When they see the privileged son of the president walk, it will hit home, and they will move to support Trump, which by itself will hand Trump the election.

Keep in mind, the prosecution of THE Donald is also a prosecution of the conservatives nationwide. It warns us that the equal application of the law is no longer alive in our nation.
Look at what the left has done to peaceful demonstrators exercising their Constitutional rights vrs the prosecution of rioters in Washington and Oregon state who did millions of dollars in damages, assaulted police stations and burned their cars just a few years ago.

Yes, and the unequal application of the law is due to the erosion of blind justice in our country. Instead, we see the rise of political lawfare perpetrated by the left, which is attempting, and has been for some time, to consolidate power through the incremental passing of laws and judgements that favor government over the people. Government based on Marxist socialist doctrine, which is increasingly the doctrine of the left, results in authoritarianism, and that's what the left really wants.

That is why leftists legislators and judges downplay and ignore lawlessness when it is committed by agitators on the left, because if the BLM/Antifa type activists get their way, it means greater socialism from the local to the national level, which serves the ends of the elite left/Marxist authoritarian seekers.

In contrast, the right (conservatives) today stands for less and weaker government, and greater freedom of the people from the dictates of government, which is in accordance with the Constitution, and which works against the authoritarian left. In response, the left deploys their media cronies to paint conservatives as some kind of threat to the people, or to democracy, as they like to say, which is directly the opposite of what is happening.

IMHO, the difference between someone on the left vs on the right comes down to one's ability to perceive these differing end goals.

Interesting analysis on key points from the Hunter Biden trial.

Not mentioned in this is that, separately, President Biden said he would not pardon his son.

Below are daily takeaways, you can follow the links in the story. And full story is at the link.

Hunter Biden’s gun trial uncovered several more explosive pieces of information in the fourth day of proceedings.
The trial is expected to last about a total of two weeks exposing damming information about the dysfunctional Biden family.
The trial is set to resume at 9:00 a.m. Friday with two remaining defense witnesses: an FBI chemist and a DEA drug expert. The prosecution is then expected to rest. The defense has not decided whether Hunter will take the stand, according to CNN.
Day four of trial uncovered the following:
  1. Hunter Biden’s missing revolver disappeared after Hallie Biden tossed it in a dumpster behind a Wilmington, Delaware, grocer in 2018, she testified. Hallie is Hunter’s ex and widow of his brother.
  2. Prosecutors asked Hallie how Hunter found out about the missing gun. “I did not tell him,” Hallie replied, according to court reporters. “I was just going to pretend like it wasn’t me.”
  3. An 80-year-old man told the jury he found Hunter’s gun in the dumpster. A state trooper confirmed the gun was in the man’s possession.
  4. Hallie testified about Hunter’s text messages. One in particular, from October 13, 2018, appeared important to the prosecution. It was about a “dealer named Mookie” in Wilmington. A second message from October 14 was also shown to the jury. In it, Hunter wrote, “I was sleeping on a car smoking crack,” court reporters noted. The texts are the “clearest pieces of evidence” against Hunter, NBC reported. They show Hunter used drugs in October, the month of the incident, prosecutors say.
  5. The prosecution revealed it does not have access to the entire contents of Hunter’s laptop,’ NBC News reported: “After the laptop was seized by investigators, the data went through a filter team to preserve any privilege issues… Because any privilege would belong to Hunter Biden, the defense was provided with the complete hard drive image, which means it has more evidence from the laptop that prosecutors don’t have.”
Notable mention:
  • Judge Noreika slammed the defense for asking to admit unseen text messages during Hallie’s testimony.

Don’t get too excited
Depending on if Joe actually sticks to his own words.

President Biden said last week he would not pardon his son Hunter Biden if he were convicted in his felony gun trial in Delaware.

Joe Biden said “Yes” when asked in an ABC News interview Thursday whether he would rule out pardoning Hunter Biden, according to the network. Joe Biden also said “Yes” when interviewer David Muir asked whether the president would accept the trial’s outcome.

Although the president has been saying that for months, some Republicans have insisted he will pardon his son.

He won’t get the sentence that he should get. There’s a reason he was even allowed to go to trial, I can’t place my finger on which reason just yet, but it’s not because the justice system works.
Like the one's involving Trump, this trial was not for justice, but for show. The verdict outcome was obvious from the start so I would suggest the sentence will be also. A pre-trail wink-wink agreement.

For example;
A sentence of community service would allow the Biden financial empire to continue using Hunter's "expertise." ;)

I'd rather him be in prison like any of us would be and he could teach other inmates artistic painting ;)
