How to Eat Healthy?

In order to eat healthy, you need to pay attention to the following points 12345:

Reasonable cooking and processing methods can reduce the loss of nutrients.

Eat regularly, three meals a day, eat on time, breakfast must not eat.

Food should have good sensory properties, variety, and can satisfy the sense of fullness, and the diet should be moderate.

The diet structure should be reasonable, meat and vegetable collocation, and the thickness of staple food collocation should be suitable.

Sugar should account for less than 10% of total energy intake, and further reduce to less than 5%, and eat less drinks with high sugar content.

Honestly I think we need to cut out, to whatever extent possible, 'refined white sugar' and 'ultra' processed foods.

If you look at the US FDA food guidelines there are minimum daily requirements for various vitamins, various other things like protein. But there is NO minimum requirement for carbohydrates. And if you look at our diets from (at least) 1960 forward you will see that the, so called, food pyramid, is full of carbohydrates that, apparently are unnecessary and possibly harmeful. Many diseases are on the increase from various cancers to lesser diseases like Type 2 Diabetes, they seem to have increased as our carbohydrate intake has increased. I'd also add in various types of plant base fats increased at the same time (margarine and similar, which have lost favor in the supermarket but remain in the processed food).

I may be late to the HEALTHY EATING party but there certainly seems to be a connection to the FDA diet and illness.

I think you should just eat a variety of foods but also not overdo vegetables only a certain quality, same with carbs.
Small potions of fats and sugars.
If you crave dessert each day, eat it but in moderation.
It is not good to deny cravings, you should listen to your body.
Also anything you deny then becomes things you crave.
So you should try to cook healthy meals you enjoy and cut back on salts and sauces.
And try to appreciate the things plain like the tastes of fruits and vegetables but not force yourself to eat stuff you do not enjoy.
If you like this food well eat it but try not to overdo anything.
If you get enough vitamins and minerals and do not feel sick you will win.
A person who denies themselves overeats and a person who is stressed or diets or does not love themselves or is not feeding themselves the proper nutrition.
And mindful is better than...control.
So if you eat mindful listening to your impulses rather than try to control everything without strict denial then you may go better.

Oh, I crave Tiramssu and sliders. But I do not let my body guide me. What a silly excuse to remain fat. And unhealthy.
