How the word "Olympics" evolved

The winter Olympics are right around the corner. I am a history buff and I found it fascinating to learn how the word "Olympics" had evolved over 2500 years.

A slave girl from Sardinia, named Gedophamee, was attending a great but, as yet, unnamed athletic festival 2500 years ago in Greece. In those days, believe it or not, the athletes performed naked. To prevent unwanted "arousal" while completing (wrestling), the men imbibed freely a drink containing saltpeter, before and throughout the variety of events.
At the opening ceremonial parade, Gedophamee observed the first wave of naked magnificent males marching toward her and she exclaimed:
"OH!! Limp pricks!"
Well . . . over the next two and a half millenniums, that morphed into "Olympics." Just thought I'd share this new found knowledge with you.

Archeology is an amazing science.

What we glean from historical documents in our relentless search for the truth and the amazing conclusions about past civilizations derived from the discoveries.

One can only imagine what the future historians will glean, and then conclude, from this post.:whistling:

Bob, I'm not even going to ask you about the history of the origins of the POLE VAULT, something tells me you have a rhyme about Nantucket . . .
