Hi from Hatchet City, Alberta Canada

Well, truthfully, we're just outside a place called Tomahawk.
I've recently returned to rural life after 30 years living and serving in two large cities. One Canadian and a Korean city, Calgary and Seoul.
Traffic is much less of a concern to me now!

I'm looking forward to being a member on this forum as i have many diverse interests that all have one common thread, humor. If I can't laugh with or at it then screw it and move on.

That's got to be a pretty nice place to live. Far enough away from Edmonton and reasonably close to the mountains.

Welcome to the forums from a fellow (ex-pat) Canuck!

Welcome to the board.

Now that I've lived in the country for over 15 years now, you'll never get me back to the big city to live, so I understand how you feel. Strange, until I went rural, I'd never lived in a city of less than 250,000 people, most of them much larger. I just spent a few days in Dallas and it was fun but I was so glad to get home.

Welcome again and we need someone with a sense of humor around here.:biggrin:

Thanks for the welcome EastTexTrank.

Ya, I thought Calgary was big at over 1 million, then Seoul blew me away at over 12 million during the night, and probably over 20 million during business hours.

Feels good to be back on the 160 acres I grew up on. Kinda prodigal son(ish) without the fattened calf stuff.

Originally from the Vancouver area but I defected south almost 15 years ago.

I was in the diving business years ago and we had a ship in Grandville harbor, we parked in front of Bridges pub. I know the city well. Damn traffic...

Hey, I know you! Glad you joined us.

I figured you were in the diving business but still have no idea what cpsseals stands for.

Edit to add: If you're using the "New Posts" option and see a bunch of weird looking thread titles, it's mostly related to snow cats. We have a huge contingent of recreational and professional snow machine guys on here. Love to have one myself but for now, I just watch their threads, pictures and videos. Watch out for BigAl. He has a few of them but I think he just sits in the seat going broooommm, broooommm as I'm pretty sure none of them ever made it out in the snow.

Hey I know you too. Welcome aboard. :tiphat:

Welcome to the funny farm. Keep that RTV ready to roll or fire up that skid steer when the BS around this place gets too deep.:yum::yum::yum:

Thanks all. Just finished scooping a giant load out of the shed muleman so I'm loaded and ready.

The diving business was a great side venture I had. I enjoyed it very much. It's great when a passion/hobby can pay for itself plus some.

Now I just dive for the pleasure of it. We just returned from the Philippines and has a blast of a time. Took a bazillion pictures of the crazy underwater life.

Cool pics but you can keep both of those varmints...

Funny... I remember the water being more blue when I was there. :)

The shots were taken with an old camera around 80 feet deep. The light washes out a bit down there and I wasn't using a strobe.

Just messing with ya. A lot of pictures on this forum (or is it the picture taker?) come out green.

Good pics!!!!! :thumb:
Are you (or your buddy) actually holding that fish in the 1st pic (porcupine one)? What kind is that? Sure looks like it could hurt ya.

edit to add,
What is that toothy guy in the 2nd pic? Looks a little like an EEL but different.

The smilies spike ball is a spiny puffer fish and is being held by my wife. If you can swim fast they are easy to catch then they puff up. I do it bare handed then hand them to my wife who wears gloves cause she gets cold fast. Although really p#$% off they look like they are smiling.
The second is a green Moray eel. The look P#$% off but are rather tame and gentle with things they can't swallow whole.

This is from the Canadian west coast. Much better colors and things are enormous! This is a Nudibranch, kind of a homeless snail.

I know the area well. I spent a lot of time at the US base there. Nam-sang is a beautiful area.
My daughters always wanted me to bring them to Namdaemun, the other gate where the whole sale shopping district is. It's what happens when a high speed Target Train collides head on with a Bullet Walmart train in a slum.

Beautiful snail pic.

Do you know what the two little pinchers belong to? (bottom right corner)
