Hangin in Tornado Alley
Each Friday night after work, Bubba would fire up his outdoor grill and cook a venison steak.

But, all of Bubba's neighbors were Catholic...and since it was Lent, they were forbidden from eating meat on Friday. The delicious aroma from the grilled venison steaks was causing such a temptation to the Catholic faithful that they finally talked to their priest.

The Priest came to visit Bubba, and suggested that he become a Catholic.

After several classes and much study, Bubba attended Mass. As the priest sprinkled holy water over him, he said, 'You were born a Baptist, and raised a Baptist, but now you are a Catholic.'

Bubba's neighbors were greatly relieved.....until Friday night arrived.....and the wonderful aroma of grilled venison filled the neighborhood once again. The Priest was called immediately by the neighbors, and, as he rushed into Bubba's yard, clutching his rosary and prepared to scold him, he stopped and watched in amazement.

There stood Bubba, clutching a small bottle of holy water....which he carefully sprinkled over the grilling meat and chanted:

'You wuz born a deer, you wuz raised a deer, but now you is a catfish.'

OK first that is damn funny. But funny as it is, it does show how many people simply misunderstand the Catholic church. For the record, we are NOT forbidden from eating meat on Fridays. I'd have been happy to show up at Bubba's for some bambi-burgers on Friday.

What most of us Catholics do, is voluntarily give up meat on Fridays during the Lenten season, which is 46 calendar days long and ends on Easter.

LMAO I saw that fallacy in the joke, but it was still funny. Actually... the joke DOES say in Lent, but we all know you can't join the Church in 46 days. I SHOULD join. There are just some bumps in the way for me. My wife is Catholic and I was raised Methodist. We go to Mass as opposed to Methodist services...long story, we should discuss sometime. I would trust and value your input on that subject.... wonder if anyone saw me say that last part....:smileywac
