My wife (Gail) is now scheduled for surgery this Monday. Female issues. She'll be in the hospital for 2 nights and then recoup is 6 to 8 weeks. No fun at all. Prayers appreciated.

Prayers and well wishes from here Doc. My DIL is having some female issue surgery herself as I type this.

Thanks All.
Wife is not so much worried about the surgery as she is about me playing nurse. She is going to need a lot of care afterwards. I think I can handle the care part but squeezing into that little white dress is going to be tough to say the least. :bonk:

Quit bringing that image up.!!!!!

A lot of us go through that Doc myself included. Be available to help because she'll need it but don't drive her crazy by hovering over her. Tell her not to be surprised if it takes longer than 6 to 8 weeks to get all of her energy back. I was 33 and able to belly dance a full hour without stopping. It was almost a year before I could do that again.

Best wishes for both of you. Tell her not to rush her recovery. Those surgeries have a lot of side issues and overdoing things too soon can ruin things. You will do fine as a caretaker but don't be afraid to let others help you and give you a break.

Very good point Muleman. Doing too much too soon can really set her back and do a lot of damage. The problem begins when she starts to feel good and is tired of being an invalid.

Thanks again all. Appreciate the prayers. She tries to tell me she is not nervous but she admitted at dinner tonight she was. I told her anyone would be. You'd be crazy not to be a little nervous.

thinking of ya doc....Its harder on me when mom has to go under the knife than if it was me........Im sure you are the same way!!!

Thanks All.

May Gail's recovery be quick and complete, even with you helping.

Remember to take care of yourself in the process of giving your wife the care she will need and deserve, don't forget that please.:flowers:
