Hello everyone!

Gina

New member
I'm Gina. I'm in San Diego, have been most of my life.

I love talking books, music and film and current events. My tastes run from the popular to the not so popular.

I also love my Chargers. I'm nursing a heartache over that embarrassing loss on Sunday.

So that's a little about me. I'll kind of hang back a little and look around. It looks like a great board so far! :)

Being a Cowboys fan I can sympathize with you on the Chargers.
Welcome to the sand box, try to post more than once though.

Hi Gina, welcome to Forums Forums. :tiphat:
I love San Diego. Beautiful town and awesome weather.
What book are you reading now?
I picked up a bio which is different for me. Snowball the story of Warren Buffet. I was afraid it might be a really dry read but so far it has kept my interest, and I'm 200 pages in.
I saw The Hangover last weekend. What a hoot. Too funny.
Enjoy and post often. :thumb: :D

Thank you all for the warm welcome! I really appreciate that!

I'm very chatty and will post often once I get my bearings! From what I've read already, it does look like a great board.

What part of San Diego does she live in?

Welcome. Just remember who warned you about RUSTY!:yum:

Ok! I will!

OUCH, yes you can commiserate. The Chargers meltdown was very similar. We just played a worse team.

San Diego has my heart. It's changed alot in the last decade or so, but I treasure it! :)

I'm starting "The Wanderer" by Sterling Hayden. Here's a description. A friend brought it to my attention and as I'm a film buff, it seemed interesting.

Since its publication in 1963 Sterling Hayden's autobiography, Wanderer, has been surrounded by controversy. The author was at the peak of his earning power as a movie star when he suddenly quit. He walked out on Hollywood, walked out of a shattered marriage, defied the courts, and, broke and an outlaw, set sail with his four children in the schooner Wanderer-bound for the South Seas.
His attempt to escape launches this autobiography. It is the candid, sometimes painfully revealing confession of a man who scrutinized his every self-defeat and self-betrayal in the unblinking light of conscience. It is also the triumph of a complex and contradictory man, a rebel and a seeker, undefeated by his failure to find himself in love, adventure, drink, or escape to the South Seas.

I haven't seen "The Hangover" yet, though loads of people have recommended it. I caught "Sling Blade" yesterday. Again, a recommend by the same friend. I was worried it would be too harsh for me, and it was sad, but I "enjoyed" it.

I recently saw "The Ugly Truth". That had me in tears! I laughed so hard! I was glad the best parts were not limited to the trailer!

BTW: Thanks for the welcome! :)

Oh, one more note: It's like the heavens are weeping here from the moment the Chargers lost the game. The beaches are flooded. Trees are falling from the sodden ground and there is more on the way.

Ok...I know it's not mother nature lamenting the loss of a game, but it feels like it! :(

What part of San Diego does she live in?
She lives on the border with Del Mar . Nice area . Close to her work in La Jolla at the beach club .

I've never been in that area. I've been to the track and downtownish areas around LJ, like the cove.

I hope you had a good time! :)

Yes , we did . Thank You . I was a refreshing break from the colder weather of Northern California .

From talking with the daughter last night , it sounds like you all are getting hit hard by the rains also . Be safe out there .

Newcomers are always welcome! PM me for a list of people you should watch out for. :brows:

Some of their antics you have probably seen already. Don't mind them, they've been inhaling funny things and aren't in their right minds. They're harmless, however! :ermm:
