Gone But Not Forgotten
Finally starting cutting yesterday . Got to send the wife to the JD dealer to get some wear parts that I need to finish up . Hay prices have exploded around here . $275 a ton . Last year I sold at $70 .
This is my last year for haying . I will be selling all my equipment at the end of this season . I am to old and tired and its just not fun anymore playing "Gentleman farmer" .The Elk and Deer can have it all next year .
In fact I have actually started to advertize the place for sale . It will have to be to some couple or group from outside the area that buys the old ranch . Nobody in our area has the $$$ or wants to own a ranch this size . I think our best bet is a semi retired couple who wants the Rural outdoor life and to have a steady income from the business in town too .
