Harbour Freight Parts Washer

BigAl

Gone But Not Forgotten
Any one using a harbour freight parts washer ??? It's time to get a new one and I see they have theirs on sale . What is the best cleaner to use ??? I was thinking of a smaller one of 10 gallons or so .

I have the 20 gallon parts washer, part # 7340. Have had it for a couple of years. Works quite well but you got to have at least 5 gallons of liquid in it to get the pump to work.

Was it worth the $75 on sale? Absolutely.

I use the purple stuff mixed 3 parts water to 1 part purple. Always use latex gloves when handling as this mixture will cause your hands to shrivel and skin to peel and will even remove old paint. Works great for removing grease.

I use Agitine I buy it from my local auto parts store.

It is not too hard on the hands unless you are in it for a long time.

But You really should wear gloves when using it also.

Do you have a name for the purple stuff?????? thanks....... Junk...

Don't remember and I don't have the bottle left anymore. However, it is the industrial strength purple (maybe called Zep?) that I bought at Home Depot. It was not very expensive in gallon bottles.
