Well, I was sitting in the lunchroom at work today looking outside when I spotted it! Went outside for a minute to see what it was and sure enough, first snow of the season.

I was tempted to sprawl out on the ground and start doing snow angels but alas, the yard around the mill was full of mud and my co-workers were watching!

This is about a month too early for our usual season but I'm not complaining. Hope it's a sign of things to come.

It was in the low 60's (F) here today! We actually have a fire in the fireplace now, its probably dropped into the low 50's now and should bottom out in the mid-40's tonight. Still way to early and too warm for snow. Heck, the corn and soybeans are still in the fields and will be for quite some time before harvest (which can be as late as late November here).

Forecast 33F tonight here. I've seen corn being harvested between Christmas and New Year! :4_11_9:

I'm stuck in this God forsaken Connecticut again (through next week), but my wife tells me we have had hard frost the last couple of nights back home in Wisconsin.

I just spoke with her and she has just fired up the furnace for the year.

25F here (MT). Frost on the grass. Someone left their sprinkler on and had icicles hanging from the garden fence. Woohoo!

Saw "termination dust" (construction worker-speak for snow, which causes layoffs) on the mountains to the west on Monday. Saw 29 degrees (F) on the way to work this morning. Won't be long now and we'll be the "frozen North" again...

Dusted mountain tops south and northeast of Livingston, MT this morning.

Got a little snow here in CA this am. Guess I'd better put away the waterskis and quad and get to workin on my snocat projects.

Vance
