Greetings from Scotland

HIGHLANDER

New member
Hi everyone, my name is Francis and I live in Scotland, I'm a Soldier and in my spare time I teach school children to play the Bagpipes, I enjoy the internet and reading the works of the War Poets Wilfred Owen and Rupert Brooke, just love all types of history. When I chill out I listen to the music of Chopin and all types of New Age music. I would like to thank the people for the warm welcome in an other thread, thanks.

Francis.:flowers:

Hi Francis! Welcome to Forums Forums. :tiphat:

You play the bagpipes ehhh? I've always been amazed by the sounds you guys can get out of those things. Do you wear a kilt on occasion also?

I hope to learn a bit more about Scotland from you through you posts. I love how the internet brings us all together and makes it easy to converse.

I hope FF becomes another one of your regular spare time activities.
Enjoy and post often!!!! :thumb:

Welcome to the now-five-year-old funny farm!
I love pipe music. I wish I could play. However, at abut $3000 for a used set, I can't afford to experiment with 'em. I'm kind of an eclectic music lover, which explains why I love the pipes.

I could pm you with details of which members to watch out for. However, I enjoy the entertainment too much to do so.

Good to have ya aboard!

Welcome to the forum.

My family heritage is from Scotland. Mainly from the Inverness area. (Brodie to be exact)

Welcome Highlander. It's nice to have another Scot on this board. Maybe now I can have a sensible conversation with someone. You're not a Rangers supporter, are you? If you are, there went any hope of a sensible conversation.

Where about in Scotland are you from, where are you stationed and what Battalion?

By the way, my oldest grandson plays the bagpipes but you really need a couple of drams before you begin to appreciate them.

welcome Highlander.....keep your Kilt under lock and key due to Rusty and his Friday night Transvestite perversions:gay:

Post often and have fun Macleod.

The Rolling Stones said "Hey, you, get off of my cloud."
The Scotsman says, "Hey, Macleod, get off of my ewe."

That's as good as it gets from me for a welcome. I sent some reps your way for having the intestinal fortitude to join up here. It was a nice place before I joined.:yum::yum:

Wait....don't tel me you're in the Black Watch...?

are you your units piper?

heh...I've played the pipes since 96', played in a band for a short time--nothin special.

Big thanks to Rusty Shackleford and JEV

Thanks guys for the warm welcome, nice to know people with Scottish roots on board. I wear a kilt when on duty and at rugby maches and at Christmas and Hogmany, I live in Perthshire but staying in Glasgow/Edinburgh at the moment, don't follow Celtic or Rangers not a football fan. What regiment do I belong too, the uniform is a very big clue lol.

Thanks to Rusty Shackleford and JEV for the reps, thats very cool.:w00t2:

Welcome, Sir! Perhaps one day you'll favor us with some piping by way of video. And I should warn you, there are some strange characters running around these forums ... beware of the fellow some call DS or Popeye - he's truly weird! :whistling::brows:

Watch out for that PG Macleod....she claims to be the Forum security inspector....truth is she is just another pervert:yum::yum::yum::yum::yum::yum:

Welcome Highlander, I too love the sound of the pipes and actually have a lovely set of them BUT I live in Wales and cannot find anyone near enough to me to teach me to play them.
