Got my first TWITTER 'follower'

I have a Twitter account.

I have NEVER made a 'tweet' on my account.

The account is used only to follow specific people/companies/organizations so that I can post new content on a couple of pages that I have been managing for a couple years on Facebook (Fencing Club pages).

So today some outdoor equipment company signed up to 'follow' me and my Tweets

I do not have a Facebook or Twitter account. However, I went for my walk this afternoon and everybody I ran into I told them what I had for dinner last night and breakfast this morning. That I usually skip lunch and what my favorite TV shows are. I now have three followers. They are all policeman.

I have absolutely no desire to have a twitter account. I do have facebook but I mainly use it to browse a couple of the local classified pages and to keep in touch with family. I hate yacking on the phone for hours so this works for me. Keeps it short and simple.

Honestly I do not see the attraction to TWITTER

Its got a 140 character limit so basically people throw up links to other websites or a photo or some unintelligible gibberish.

Like I said, mostly I use it to gather content for a couple Facebook pages related to sport fencing. So I track a some national and international sport fencing accounts. I track a couple things for personal interest. But like I said I've never ever Tweeted anything, but now I have a "follower." I dunno why!

I set up a Facebook account about 6 months ago, spent some time learning how to set it up and how to use it. All I can say is...

Facebook Rocks! (lol, never thought I'd say that!)

I belong to a couple of Jeep clubs, another group that only accepts people who grew up in the small town of Lone Pine, and a local group that lists property that they have for rent. It's all about how you set your account up and who can see what you post.

I think FB is great for us old people

The kids seem to prefer things like Snap Chat, Instagram and Twitter.

My daughter uses Snap Chat. I know some others who use Instagram and Twitter. No clue what Snap Chat or Instagram are. Obviously I use Twitter, but I find FB far more useful.

Isn't it nice to be so popular?

Well there is now some sort of a tidal wave in terms of my popularity on Twitter. I think that 1st follower somehow triggered a bunch of computer programs because all of a sudden I now have 7 followers. And I've still never made a single "tweet" on my account


Actually I had 2 more followers, both were porn. I 'blocked' those from my page. So perhaps I should revise my count to 9?
