Just before the snowtrac conference in Wales adjourns for Phil to return to Swansea, we thought we'd put another historic gem for forums to savour! Six 45 Commando RM ST4 snowtrac 24v FFR's (fitted for radio) on the quay side at Narvik, Norway in March 1975. They had just been driven off the Commando Carrier HMS HERMES, the ramp to the hangar deck is visible on the far left of the photograph. Of note are the large wheels of the snowtracs camouflaged half black and half white. Not long after this wheels were camouflaged either all white or all black as when rotating they would less eye-catching and more tactical. You can also see the windscreen covers rolled up. External fuel tank with tool box forward, also note heliportability chains dangling at front and all snowtracs fitted with tracklets.
