I think they knocked a couple years off his age.
I think they miraculously made Carrie Fisher younger as well, unless she made Star wars when he was around 19.

George Michael was only like 23 when Wham! Made It Big...Oh, no pun intended. And I just read an article where Carrie Fisher was 19 when they filmed the original Star Wars.
