Looks like we can add Geico to our list of anti-gun companies who don't deserve our business.

Consider the DNA
GEICO is originaly Government Employees Insurance Company.

I was just looking at them to insure my Chrysler Crossfires.

I'll hafta stick with Allstate.

As for the Lizard, frack 'im

Yea, I don't get it. I had them 30 years ago when I was in the military. How can they insure service members? They were a real POS company back then and I've refused to do business with them ever since.

Something doesn't look right about that letter to me. Before I jump into GEICO's shit, I would have to have some confirmation.

Not saying it is wrong or right, just that it bears further research.

Damn! Don't they understand that almost half of the government employees carry a firearm or have armed guards around them??? Heck, they probably need to fire a third of their own employees!

As much as I dislike the limey little salamander, I'm reserving judgment as well.

Image is too grainy to make out the name of the business clearly enough, but you can *almost* read the name through the marker.

Certainly looks authentic, but I hear they make very convincing birth certificates these days as well. An insurance letter can be whipped up by a 5th grader with access to MS Word.

Then again, Geico has roots in the guv'ment, so anything is possible :ermm:

I copied your letter on my FB page. About half of my "friends" are fellow firearm collectors and several who are direct manufacturers. One is co-owner of a company who makes AR lowers and has a government contract and the other makes suppressors and is so far behind on their government and other law enforcement contracts that they are running 3 shifts a day. I'm sure they'll love what GEICO is doing.

The little sucker isn't even American!

Anti gun??????
Perhaps he has relations to a mutual Canadian aquaintance of ours?:yum:

Bob, you'd be proud. Two people have already "re-posted" my post with that letter and you should see some of the comments already flying in. One guy tried to take up for them and said he was only dropped because he was using his car for commercial service with a regular policy. I'm not really buying that excuse when the letter specified "in the weapons industry". If you used a vehicle that should be commercial, the standard practice is to simply move you to a commercial policy and charge you accordingly. If you don't like it, tough. They don't just drop you. I've been licensed in P&C for over 25 years and have to take continuing education as if I actively sold homeowners and auto insurance even though I don't.

The guy who tried to discredit the letter first said it was not official GEICO stationary. Then he verified it was and went with the commercial excuse.

Their junk mail is good for heating with. Other than that, folks who had them say they are worthless.

A quick check of the zip code shows Miles city, Montana but the chamber of commerce website has no gun manufacturers.

I went to the Geico website and sent them the following message through their "Contact Us" form. Included with the original content is their response.

Their Message To Me

Good evening,

Thank you for contacting us and we appreciate your concern regarding this matter. There was some misunderstanding on our part in relation to the usage of the vehicle and we reached out to the customer in December. We have again reached out to the policyholder in an effort to clarify usage and continue his policy.

Sincerely,
Tanya Close

Good for you, squerly. But sorry to see GEICO's non-answer. Chicken shits.

One person on FB messaged me and said that they work for a gunsmith part time and they got dumped by GEICO via a similar letter. He had no way of copying the document and seemed very concerned about there possibly being some sort of his personal information in the letter so he really did not want me posting it even though he said "That is my letter" you posted except the name, address and vehicle information is blocked out.

I still wonder what GEICO is going to do since a conservative estimate would be that at least 25% of their payroll carries a firearm, works, cleans and makes minor repairs to their firearms or hires someone who works in the firearm industry (bodyguards included if they have a single Glock 'gunsmith' tool). The way the letter is phrased could encompass a large percentage of the population if GEICO wanted to do so. If they do not, and are selective, I see major law suits for discrimination coming their way post haste.

It makes one wonder: does the Government have influence over Government Employees Insurance COmpany.

That is where the person who tried to defend GEICO on my FB post said that the customer was using their vehicle for commercial use with a residential use policy; after he first said the letter was a fake and then said it was not a fake. As I mentioned previously, this is a VERY common occurrence. Almost ALWAYS, the insurer sends a letter to the insured asking specific questions to make the clarification. If they do decide the customer is using the vehicle for commercial use with a simple individual or residential policy, I've never heard of any company not first trying to simply move that vehicle to a 'commercial' policy before dumping said customer.

Insurance companies like to continue to receive premiums. The wording on the Bob's picture did NOT state anything like "Due to you not responding and verifying that you do not use your vehicle for commercial purposes, we are forced to terminate that policy".

Can we now presumetha GEICO doese not employ armed security personel?

Nope, and all Congressmen and Senators, President, VP etc. all included, also opted to drop their 'golden parachute' insurance coverages and take what we all have to take as simple citizens of this country. NOT. That proposal went down in both chambers faster than a lead balloon! The government officials who have an amazing set of coverages voted "NO WAY" to losing what they have and going with what "ordinary" citizens will have.

Let us not forget, it is GEICO that has begun installing car operation monitors in it's customer''s cars.

Suggesting that manditory black box legislation for 2014 is more real than you might think.

Remember, the NTSB can just make a regulation. They are now beyond Congress
