Last winter Alaska 120 heleped me build a cabin on Totec lake,we had a few flat tires a lot of fun but not much snow. For some reason Alaska 120 was always driving when they went flat:17875: We had them foam filled this year maybe that will solve the problem? The cabin is 48 miles from Nenana and the trail was real rough. I am hoping for more snow this year.I found a few pic of last year if I can get them to upload.Your snow trac is looking good Alaska 120 but we need lots more pic :weneedpic :poke:

Cool cabin and pics... Looks like you put your snow cat to the test hauling supplies to build the cabin. It must of been a lot of hard work and fun combined. Is the trail to the cabin via snow cat 48 miles? Do you have a summer road to the cabin? The foam filled tires will make the ride rougher but you do not need to worry about the flats anymore.

Hey !! the no flat tires sounds real nice!! I dont know if the trail can get any rougher than it is now,but i would drether have a rough ride than fix a stupid flat any day.We camped in a old army tent last winter and worked on the cabin ,not the best way to do things but it worked. It sure will be nice to stay in the cabin!!-45 is to cold for tent camping. We have one mile of road we run on then 47 miles of snow cat trail.the only way to the lake in the summer is by bush plane, the cabin on totec lake is a stop over point on my way to my cabin on the kantisna river,it is 75 miles from Nenana.I will be working on the trails this winter, pulling a drag and cleaning brush stuff like that.if we ever get any snow!:snow2_smi:

Well we got some snow today so I think you will be having a nice snowy winter there!.. All of my Snow Master tires are foam filled and it makes for a rougher ride on hard pack. BUT as you say no flats! Nowadays you can get three types of foam filled tires. Hard, medium and soft foam filled tires. I would go the medium on the Snow Master / Trac. Mine are currently the HARD filled tires. Sure looks like you guys had some good times albiet a bit cold.

Hey Larry, welcome back, its been a while since you posted. Interesting project. It looks like you had a lot of the cabin wall sections built and loaded onto the tow sleds. That sure would make the assembly a lot easier as you don't have to stick build in a remote location. :applause:

Is the cabin a public stopping point for one of your 'snowcat tours' that you run out of your ROUGHWOODS INN restaurant? http://www.roughwoodsinn.biz/ Or is the cabin a personal retreat for you/your family?

The cabin on the Totec lake is for anyone to use that has a snow trac even if it is painted a chicken somthing yellow,I will use it for tours or on my way to my cabin on the Kantisna river,I am still working on the trail from Totec to the Kantisna, got it put in last winter but it still needs a lot of brushing and cleaning up.I just put medium type foam in my tires, just the big ones i dont mind changing the small ones to bad, still have a lot of stuff to do before my snow tracs are ready for the trail.
