ford v4 rpm question

I am working on a snowcat that originally had a ford v4 engine in it that has since been replaced with a 4 cylinder diesel.
my question is does anybody know the rpm range of the ford v4?
I am trying to compare it to the new diesel engine rpms.
any input or experience would be appreciated.
 
I normally run my 1404 (Ford V4) between 2,000 and 3,000 RPM. I think it maxes out somewhere shy of 4,000, but I rarely get up into that region.
 
hey cloudcap, thanks for the info i was just trying to compare to diesel engine in my cat, i think it runs at 2800 rpm max so it should be pretty close to original rpm

You should have enough gears to make up the difference on road speed if that’s a concern
