Follow up on my Grandson

The Old Salt
Some of you may remember a few months ago, I posted a story about my 12 year old grandson and the problems with bullying at school.

Well, it has gotten much worse. Basically having to fight every day. He is good at defending himself, as his Dad is a Black Belt, and has taught him well, but he has been taking his licks too. He is very small for his age and older kids single him out.

The latest was the last straw. He smacked one bully at least three times to the head before he hit the floor. It is always the little guys that are the fastest. My grandson ended up being the one suspended. The other kid never landed a punch so no marks on my grandson. That was the last straw. It also seems all previous records and complaints at the school over this ongoing issue mysteriously dissapeared after my son alluded to the fact that if this does not end a lawsuit will be forthcoming.

His grades are not good obviously. They are now homeschooling. There is no excuse for our school systems to be such cesspools. My heart goes out to the kids that cannot defend themselves as Trevor has. It kept most of the wolves at bay but not all. There was a gang that always wanted to test him.

This shit just makes me want to scream and beat the crap out of something or someone. I am sorry grand kiddo had to go through that.
Glad he has you and his dad who at least see it and act on it.

Thank you for the kind words. Trevor is a really good kid. Active in the Boy Scouts, of which I am very proud and a big fan of. Also, very active in karate. He struggles with ADD. I believe homeschooling is going to be just the ticket for him. Gotta get those grades up.

I hate to hear that for your grandson TR. Sure sounds like he can defend himself. After defending himself like that you'd think the bully would move on to easier targets.

Best wishes for him and Home schooling. Seems like a tough way to go to me.

Yes, he can defend himself. At first my son was reluctant to "turn him loose" so to speak because he was afraid Trevor would hurt someone. Finally, it became apparent the the school was dragging their feet and Tervor needed to defend himself. Yes, it took care of most of it, but there is a gang of kids that join together and never really bothered him until he started decking some of the troublemakers. Seems some of these tough guys keep coming back for more. No brain, no pain as the saying goes. I won't go into any more details than that, but I am sure you can read between the lines. One parent simply said there was nothing he wanted to do. He said let them fight it out and the tougher one will survive. He said that was the way life works. Hmmmm, maybe in the friggin' jungle where he comes from. :hammer:

My son Jeff used to get bullied, TR.
He thoroughly cleaned the clock of said bully while I watched from behind a tree.
That was the last time it ever happened.

I think Trevor is going to turn out just fine.
