Well I made my first trip to my cabin in my limp imp. Fogtender and I left Nenana on Friday at one pm. It was 5 below, we took turns breaking trail ,my imp was running real good untill I ran out of gas then it started giving me trouble. It was running real rough and back firing, may have picked somthing up off the bottom of the tank ?(need to put in a bigger gas tank) So I let fogtender have all the fun breaking trail and just followed along behind him, things was going along fine untill he lost the trail and started running around in cirles among the trees. BUT, I figured if he could do that bygod I COULD TOO!! Any way we made it to our cabins around ten oclock,We came back to town on Sunday,it was 27 below, but we had broke trail to run so it only took us 4 hours to make it to town.My camera goofed up so I didn't get any real good photos. To day it is 50 below. GLOBAL WARMING!! Ran out of gas ,One busted grosser ,Two blowen head lights, oil presure gage stoped working, heater core must have plugged up,But I Limped home in my limp imp!!

Thanks for the pics Larry. Looks like a successful voyage despite some minor problems. It's a wonder machines (or humans) run at all at those temps. How was the heat in your cab? That's a great looking cabin. Reminds me of when we were shopping for our last house after a couple of cold winters in a drafty old house in northern Montana. I remember telling the realtor "This is nice, but do you have anything smaller and with fewer windows?"

Must be that Pumkin Orange he has on that thing that gave him the trouble.... :poke:

It is still 50 below and the imp is in the shop again!I pulled the carb and it has a lot of rustey looking junk in it . I need to clean the tank ,change the filter and I might as well put a carb repaire kit in it. Also I will mount a bigger gas tank on it .I found some photos of last year I might as well post them on here.

Thanks for all the pictures, Larry :thumb:

I love your cabin and hope to build one much like it in the next couple of years.
Did you saw the logs yourself ?

I like your gin pole set-up !!! Bet it's the first time that a Snowtrac helped build a log cabin :applause:

Pixie this is the first cabin I have used 3 sided logs on,I like to build with round logs, but I got the logs in a trade so I decided to use them on the cabin at totec lake. This cabin is just a half way stop over point on our way to our home on the kantishna river, which is anouther 40 miles beyond. If I can ever get this limp imp to run right I hope to get the trail broke open all the way to the kantishna.I have been cutting trail for three years now trying to get it so I can haul supplys with snowtracks .
