Finding out my dad is not doing good, He has alzheimer's disease which he was diagnosed with 4 years at age 76. He was forgetting names, hit my mom being mean to her at times which he has not done to her, get lost and misplace things. It got so bad his driver's license had to be pulled. His is in late stages, does not eat, cannot speak at all and has fell twice. Got together and knew it was best to put him in Hospice care, getting to the point we cannot take care of him anymore. He is 80 years old now and has led a good long life. Mom, she is 75 and gets around well turning 76 next week. She knows my brothers and I will be there for her even when he does go.

Horrible disease. My wife's mother died with it. She lived 91 years. Hurt my wife when her mother no longer recognized her.
My mom died last year. She was 91, but sharp as ever.
Sucks getting old.
I am the youngest at 46 which I turned last month. My oldest brother will be 60 this weekend,2nd oldest brother is 56, 3rd oldest turns 50 next week and last oldest brother turned 48 in November. Mom says she remembers us as kids now with my last older brother and I in our 40s,next older brothers in their 50s and my oldest turning 60

This old guy will be 70 this year.
Before mom passed, she told us stories she had never shared with us. Bring forced from the homeland, losing all their property to the Germans, running to Austria, and then on to NYNY. My aunt, her sister, is still around.
My mom was a wild one when young, my aunt was miss proper. Mom had a motorcycle in Austria and went all over the place, many overnight trips. My aunt still scolded her for her wildness.

I'm 47. My dad would have been 70 this year but passed away in a work accident at 68. Only one older brother. We're currently dealing with the same thing with my kids grandmother from my wife's first marriage. We have a better relationship with them then their own son so it's kinda falling on us to help guide her husband and provide assistance where needed. He has no family. She has a sister 17 hrs away. So I totally understand where you are coming from.
