Finally ! Time to hang the plow !

BigAl

Gone But Not Forgotten
Well .... It looks like i'll be hanging the snow plow on the tractor in the morning. Woke up to about 8" of snow this morning and its snowing to beat hell tonight . If it keeps up we are going to have some major snow to move in the morning . I established my road edges today so now its time to get serious . Might as well hang the blower too, on the back . I run a Trackless Snow blower and it can blow and cut through about 30" in one cut with ease . I run heavy truck ice chains on the front tires and it gives me great direction control as well as added traction in 4x4 .

We are just getting rain. Snow is sure piling up in the Rockies. Snowcat time. Do you have one that runs?:whistling:

Al,

My snow blower would be more usefull than your tractor mounted one...I don't have to turn around to see what I am doing!!!. 4WD and 175HP on tap...

I just wish we would get snow, rain, hail, sleet and any other form of moistier, hell I don't care anymore how...

I'm afraid it's going to be another bust like last year.

Have fun, Kirk

Now that is one good set up for a blower. They have all kinds of blizzard warnings out here for tonight.

Welll.. I guess I will not be hanging that blower or plow or anything else for quite a while . Something let go in my low back yesterday. The pain level went to 10 and here I am . It was All I could do from passing out last night . Two local EMT's could not do a thing to help the pain . Setting at about a 6 right now .

Going to try to head for the hospital today . The emt told me the ride out will be a killer on my back . 20 years since the accident and I cannot ever remember the pain at this level .I would let them cut every nerve in my back to stop this . Damn .

Dang Al so sorry to hear of this,

Take care of your self as I am sure the Doctors will be telling you. I hope there is some thing they can do to give you relief and a good long term fix. Please keep us informed and we'll keep you in our thoughts and prayers.:flowers:

Send your snow over here I can deal with it!:whistling:

Regards, Kirk

Is that blower the South Dakota manufacturer that tests their thrower with rocks??

Griz, they all get tested with rocks sooner or later. Some do better than others...:whistling: The size of the rock has a lot to do with it as well.:yum:

grizzer,

This blower was made in Minnisota. As for rocks it throws them pretty well....

But I cann't say they are tested with rocks. I wouldn't think so, anyway....

Just need some snow!

And I hope Al's back is getting better!

Regards, Kirk

Allen hope you are getting better just hung the plow on my 1 ton last night we are bracing for the first storm of the year with 8 to 15 inches over the next 3 days

Went to the hospital yesterday . They poked ,jabbed , violated my ass, exrayed , took my blood and handed me a bill . In San francisco they would have paid me to do that . Still not sure what the propblem is . I still say its my back but they are checking about one million other things it could be . The trip out set me back and I feel as bad as I did Saturday night . Living on pain killers now . And of course it has finally decided to snow . Told the wife i might try loading up on pain pills to climbon the tractor to keep the ranch road open .yippee

The body is a complicated piece of work and that is why they call it practicing medicine.
Great way of saying it! It is a best guess business for sure. Hope they figure something out Al. They have been playing with my body a lot this year and are damn lacking in answers.

I had an old tractor blower made by New Idea, the inventor of the manure spreader. It worked ok but I didn't care for extended turn around & watch & the spout rotation usually went the wrong way... The thrower paddle was 3x newer machines use 4x maybe that works better in the heavy wet stuff.

Hope Al gets better - maybe it's time to smoke a bowl of that newly legalized mary jane ??
