Fill your bulk tanks now!

muleman

Gone But Not Forgotten
Just topped off my diesel tank at $3.54 a gallon. Driver said they are bracing for $4 by middle of March just in time for spring planting in many areas. My old boss says it is the craziest market he has ever seen and long range outlook is even worse. Oil companies are losing a lot of customers to natural gas for heating. No reason at all for this kind of increase when historically it always came down around mid February into March.

I'm good on diesel but stuck the dipstick into the gas tank and I'm down to about 100 gallons (or less).
Debating whether to pay the extra and go ethanol free.
Any thoughts on adding 400 gallons of pure gas to the 100 gallons of E10? As much as I use fuel in the winter, that last 100 gallons may last me until April (a bad time to fill).

I would not sweat mixing it. You will do good to fill it now. On road diesel just went up to $4.24 in Pa. and the tanker was waiting for me to pull out to deliver gas. It is at $3.69 and will likely be up by later today as well.:hammer:

Don't ssweat it. You only need 3% ETOH to keep the lines from freezing. That and anti knock, is the only benefit of Ethonal.

I'll trade ya! $3.69 a gallon equals out to 97.4 cents a liter. I haven't seen that up here in over 5 years. The price right now where I live is 137.1 cents a liter.:hammer:

It costs me on average $125-$130 to fill my truck right now.

That's because your fuel taxes pay for your "free" medical care.

Sorry if this is OT ,or a hijack . But how big of a tank is considered a bulk tank for fuel suppliers? Is 150-250 gallons considered too small for most companies to consider too small for deliveries without some sort of extra charge ?

Most like a 150 gallon minimum delivery. I got 95 gallons today but I always pay the driver and they do mine when they are going by my lane for the Amish sawmills anyway.

I bought 7,000 gallons of Diesel last Monday for $3.38 for the off road. A years worth for the off road fuel I use. Shoud have bought 2,000 of gasoline and on road Diesel while I was at it....Maybe I still should?

Regards, Kirk
