... on their licenses. This is a stepping stone toward a National ID Card. The Feds should not be in any way involved in ID cards or licenses.

People who refuse to wear their gold star will be subject to more invasive searches at Federal checkpoints that are springing up all over America.

DMV Commissioner Melody A. Currey said that without the gold star travelers will likely face greater scrutiny at airports and when entering federal buildings. Currey said the DMV is rolling out the new program now because Connecticut is on a six-year license renewal cycle and everyone needs to have a new license before 2017, when the federal regulations go into effect.

"This is a federally mandated program to improve security,'' Currey said. "We live next door to New York City and after what happened there I think we need to assure our residents that we are doing everything we can to properly identify people."

Oh, and if you are not aware that we now have "checkpoints" in the use, here are just a few examples:

TSA And Feds Set Up Random Check Points In GA

Woman arrested for refusing a breast patdown at checkpoint

TSA to oversee searches at High School prom

Cruise passengers tell of seven-hour security checkpoint extravaganza

New DHS interrogation machines that can predict your guilty conscience

TSA setting up X-Ray checkpoints on highways

Airport security checkpoint of the future

Sobriety Checkpoint leads to Forcible Extraction

TSA Still Going After Kids

TSA set to begin harvesting DNA at checkpoints

"No Refusal" Blood-Draw DUI Checkpoints

Fruit Police demand to see inside driver's lunchbox at checkpoint

Pastor forcibly ripped from window at checkpoint

Strip your child for the good of the Homeland, komrades

I'm really not a TIN FOIL HAT type of guy, but our federal government is really out of control! We need to roll back about 99% of what both Obama and Bush have done "for" this country!

The NAZIS made some people where gold stars. I don't like this AT ALL.

Yup, and not only is the national ID system coming into place. It appears that one of the leading proponents of ObamaCare wants (even if only sarcastically) to slap a gold sticker on the foreheads of people who don't want to comply with the insurance mandate.

As broadcast on NATIONAL PUBLIC RADIO:

Len Nichols, a health economist who teaches at Virginia's George Mason University, says without a requirement for coverage, Congress might have to find another way to make the consequences of not having insurance even more dramatic.

For example, he says, perhaps if people don't buy insurance when it is first available, "if you ever try to buy insurance again, you'll have to pay three times the market price, and we will put a gold sticker on your forehead and say to all hospitals, 'You do not have to treat this person; this person has forfeited their right to uncompensated care.' "

Nichols is only half serious about that gold star. He is quick to point out that doctors and hospitals are bound by professional standards not to turn away patients in need of emergency care. So he says Congress may want to consider another option: Make the states do the hard work. Lawmakers could withhold federal funding in the health law unless states require people to have health insurance. That's how Congress got states to lower speed limits in the 1970s.

This is clearly a government run by those who believe that centralized power is best.

Look, this is as you say an absolute invasion of privacy, and one's constitutional rights, whatever. The fact of the matter is that any socilaist government wants to scan, tag and bag us all from birht to death. The want to know, and oversee every single part of your life, including intimate and personal aspects of it. Make no mistake, things will get worse.

But, heres the most frightening aspects of all of this; it is that we won't stop them. We'll all face it apathetically, and gripe and whinmge; but at the end of the day we will go meekly into the future that big brother has outlined for humanity. And, know what is even more scarier? Whatever government admisnistration follows will not rescind one, not one of the silly, sinister and invasive regulations and practices.

And, if'n we all refused to vote? Why, they'd just toss a coin. This is the way of the future. I don't like it, you don't like it, we all don't like it; but frighteningly, that is what lies ahead for us all, because we let them do it.

It comes to something, as one commentator said, when governments allow self appointed monitors to grope ones genitals in the name of security.

This is much the same as most vehicles having onstar or some other form of technology that allows it to be tracked wherever it goes. Lia is spot on...Big brother is surely watching our every move.

The Judge nails it once again. Sad but true.

The Judge nails it once again. Sad but true.

So frighteningly close to reality... Indeed, as he said; what do we do about it? Well, we've allowed them to get this far, how much more will we allow them to get away with? I suspect that they'll go all the way. Cold hard fact. The future looks bleak.
