I was in a Burger King for lunch the other day, in a predominantly black community where I was working (yes, I had my TCP in my pocket as I always do in these "post Trayvon" days). I ordered a #1, small, to eat in. The cashier asked me a question three different times, and I couldn't understand her inner city dialect to give her an answer. The words just ran together and sounded like she had a mouth full of marbles or shit. I just walked out and drove across the street to Wendy's, where a very charming, obviously educated, young black woman took my order IN AMERICAN ENGLISH, and with a genuine smile, thanked me for choosing Wendy's for my lunch. SHE will be an asset to any business that hires her.
It's no small wonder the lines at Wendy's were much longer than the Burger King across the street. I wish I could tell which fast food joints were affirmative action employers, and which ones gave a shit about their customers.
