This may come as a shock considering how seriously Facebook takes your privacy, but if you’re a Facebook user with one of Facebook’s mobile applications installed on your iPhone or one of several other smartphones, you’ve been robbed. Each and every contact stored on your phone is probably now also stored on Facebook’s servers, as was re-re-rediscovered by Facebook users this past week.

Yep, looked at my facebook last night and the phone numbers to all of my friends where in there. I did the removal thing and took the program off my phone. I am seriously thinking of closing my account. Never liked it much anyway since I joined about a year ago.

Never signed up to this nor Twitter or any other social site, well, except forums

Didn't I hear awhile back that you can close your account on facebook but nothing ever gets deleted?

i think you can delete all the info but you have to stay off any sites that use face book for something like 14 days ,if you log back in to any program that uses face book it will automatically update your account and you have to start over, very frustrating but it can be done, took me a month to get it all sorted out, they don't make it easy to do.but i am no longer hassled by face book programs.

You are absolutely correct but if enough people close their accounts maybe Facebook will listen and turn this feature off.
