elk laying horns back while running

I was asked the other day how an elk with large horns run in the trees. I told them they lay them on their back and run.
that same day I got this video showing it.

I just thought someone may enjoy it.
it was at one edge of my yard .

I consider myself a country boy these days, if truthful, I'd say a country old man, but I never knew that. There is a shortage of elk around East Texas.

That's pretty cool!!!!!

Nice video.....

There is only one area in the northern lower pennisula of Michigan where you can hunt elk and it is done by lottery. They only issue, I think, about 90 permits and it is the luck of the draw to see if you get to hunt them. I used to enter every year and never got a permit, but some have gotten two or three in their lifetime.

You are lucky to have so many animals. 7-8 years ago we had lots of deer, turkeys, hogs, etc but lately we are hard pressed to even find a squirrel. Don't know what happened but we could starve if we were depending on hunting around here. Great video's!
