Any have any experience or opinion on an electronic ignition on a snotrac? I have a compufire that seems to have crapped out. I have power to it, but not getting any spark out. I was thinking of just going back to points as a new one costs around $500.

Wilson that is why I like points they always work just like republicans. that said contact Ron at carcraft inc in riverside ca he has a complete vacuum advance electronic distributor new for around a hundred bucks CarCraftTurboHot@aol.com

I had the igniter go out on my bombi in under a year and pertronics replaced it. is it 500 just for the igniter? never delt with computerfire.
I carry my old system for backup.

not sure what the problem is…not a whole lot of parts to troubleshoot. Lately cat has been running, rough, backfiring at idle. I rebuilt the carb, and it ran for about 5 minutes and no more spark. Verified power to coil and cap. Verified ground strap to engine, cleaned up all connections (Pos/Neg) still nothing.

time to go back old school

replaced the distributor, coil, spark plugs, wires and rebuilt the carb. Seems to be running great now. However, I noticed I was leaking oil so I pulled the skid plate and appears the rear main is dumping oil. Also, leave it up to Peterson Equipment that when they installed my exhaust they did not leave me a way of pulling the engine out without cutting the exhaust off. Time to give in for this season and prep for next year. I guess if I am pulling the engine I might as well tackle raising the cab. Any great suggestions for lifting it about 4 inches?

a piece of 4 inch aluminum channel also check for excessive end play on the crank this is normally why the rear main leaks .

search the VTbob user there are photos of a yellow snow master that has a raised cab. I own that machine now.

I will snap a photo of it making the door taller appeared to be the hardest part.

new machine?? I to just helped haul two good running ones from Mary's in Idaho to the seattle area.

Searched, I see this post and one about tires.

Not finding a yellow snow master.

The Yellow machine is in WI now.Yes I own it.

I did not procure the drag.

It looks like a 3/16 sheet metal broke into a C channel form.

If I get a chance I will photo it.
