Several years ago (in the late 60's) a guy put an ad in newspapers all over the country. He was selling a "miracle of
modern technology - a solar powered clothes dryer!" The ad listed the many benefits of the device: no gas or electricity
needed, non-polluting, safe around pets and children. And the price was phenomenal: only $35.00 for the solar dryer and
full operating instructions!
The FTC tried to hang the guy out to dry, but it turned out that every single claim he had made was 100% True! The price was
a bit of a snag, but it was determined that fell under the caveat of "Buyer Beware". The guy walked away with nearly $350,000, which was really BIG money then.
Oh, the product itself? Fifty feet of wire reinforced cotton clothesline!
