Do you know how to make the cents sign?

Member Guts over on Net Cooking Talk posted the following, which got others to share links on how to do all kinds of kewl stuff with the one key on the keyboard I very rarely use. The ALT key. I mainly use it with the Ctrl & Delete Keys for Ctrl ALT Delete, otherwise my ALT key is probably the least used key on my keyboard.

Here are some ALT codes that I find useful. I'm not sure if they work on Mac PCs . I would like to find the ALT codes for the other number fractions if anyone has them. I can't seem to find them anywhere. maybe I should have posted this under computers moderators please feel free to move it there. If you think that would be more appropriate, sorry





ALT Code

ALT + 0174 is ®
ALT + 0153 is ™
ALT + 248 is ° or ALT + 0176 is ° "degree sign"
ALT + 172 is ¼
ALT + 171 is ½
ALT + 0190 is ¾
ALT + 0177 is ±
ALT + 0247 is ÷
ALT + 0215 is ×
ALT + 251 is √

Then one of the links showed how to make the cents sign, which could be very handy to me.
ALT + 0162 = ¢
Hold the ALT key down and hit the 0 1 6 2 ON THE NUMERIC KEYPAD. When you let up on the ALT key the cents sign will appear. Kewl ehh.

I usually just use the Character Map (charmap.exe) application to find the character and then cut and paste it as needed. Character Map will also tell you what the ALT code is.
