Dick Clark dead at 82 years old

On New Years eve he looked like he had made such progress from the year before. Sad way to sad, he was a great guy. RIP Dick you will be missed by many. Your count downs will be missed.

Sorry to hear about that . He was one of the great guys in the music industry .
RIP mr. Clark , and thanks for all the joy you brought .

To all the GREAT memories. Thanks Mr. Clark. RIP

Dick Clark Passes at 82

He had a massive heart attack this morning. I remember him as the forever young moderator of American Bandstand. Rest In Peace. I'll never forget that show and all of the Times Square countdowns on New Years Eve.

Was very sad to hear this news, but he sure led a full life and WOW, what a career!!
I loved American Bandstand from the time I was able to walk and talk until the time it went off the air.
Mr. Dick Clark, you made such a difference in this world with your kind manner and your fabulous contribution to entertaining America for a very long time.
Thank you!

Something oftenforgotten about Dick Clark was his ground breaking introduction of Black performers when he took over American Band Stand.
It was a bold and brave move for an upsart in Nashville who got his shot at the bigtime because the original host was arrested for DWI.

Clark had as much to do with breaking down the racial barriers as Rosa Parks. The likes of Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton won't agree because,,,he was a white man.

And a good one to boot.

Every black , hell every non white, performer in the entertainment industry should offer him their thanks, honor and bless Dick Clark's life bravery, honesty and integrity.

That more than all the awards and fame, is his true legacy.

Mommy used to dust the furniture and iron AND dance while Bandstand was on tv when I was real little. lol :D
In the very early 70s, after we settled in Ohio, myself and a neighbour friend Terri never missed it.

We'd move the coffee table and couch back and dance along with the bandstand dancers, then go crazy over the guests Dick had on the show- the current chart toppers.

There was a couple who always danced together circa '72?
His name was John, her name was Debbie.
He was hot, and she was gorgeous and the camera always seemed to be on them.

Forgot to mention Bloopers and The Pyramid, used to sit on the edge of my seat and scream at the tv if they didn't come up with the right clues in the winners circle. LOL

'Rockin' Eve was good from it's inception until the musical guests started to suck in the early '90s.. still tuned in anyhow to watch the ball drop.
