Gone But Not Forgotten
After all the shit I have been going through the cancer docs kicked me up the road to Rochester University's Strong Memorial hospital for bone marrow transplant work. Scheduled an appointment for tomorrow and was all set to go. Got a call from the doc up there that they had not received my slides from the bone marrow test I had done. When I contacted the cancer center I have been going to they said they could send my records but not any tissue samples without a special release for body fluids etc. WTF! So I had to call and give a verbal recorded release to have them Fedex them overnight. Then Rochester said I have to reschedule for Monday so their pathologist can interpret them before I see the doc. They also had been given a 6 year old phone number from the hospital down here from when I still lived in Pa. Wonder why they gave me anxiety meds????:yum::yum::yum:

Hang in there Muleman, hospitals are at least as bureacratic as the government. You doing ok? I guess I had not heard about you being sick.

Figures.
Don't you just love HIPAA?

I worked for the State of Californians Disability Insurance Dept. We pay benefits to workers who are medically unable to work for a period of time. Won't bore you with the details but it is the only self supporting dept in state gov.

When HIPPA first went into effect it drove us all crazy. Doctors offices were afraid to say anything to us. Sometimes without additional info we couldn't pay. Then the client was upset when we told them that. It was an awful mess until everyone understood the rules.
