Damn Drill broke my finger !!

BigAl

Gone But Not Forgotten
This is the second time in 2 years that this Fickin drill has done this . Its a Milwaukee 1/2 drive . The fucking constant on buttom is on the wrong side so when you hold it right handed it locks in the on position. I could not let go fast enough when the bit stuck !!!:w00t2:
Man I hope this ain't the way things go over the weekend .
So now I got two finger that are crooked !

I know this is going to suck Al but grab your finger and pull it hard. Do it quick! It'll straighten out...

Yep Al, I also used to own one like it. Have the newer model where the button is just above the trigger and you have to use a fingernail to lock it. Didn't break any fingers w/ the old one but got wound up good and tight a couple of times. Take it apart and see if you can remove the lock button or grind the button down so it can't be accidently pushed. How much do you need continuous run?? For their size they're the most powerful 1/2" drills I've ever used.

think about what you posted didn't you play pull my finger with your kids it's kind of a scarry thaught with Big Al but i know what he is talking about used to do the same thing with makitas when i intalled trailer hitches who needs that damnd button its as useless as the crossbolt safety on a marlin lever action rifle

I have the 1/2" plumbers kit with right angle drive. Can't tell how many times I had my hand slammed into studs while drilling holes for 1-1/2" vent lines.

The only possible use I can think of for the button is to clamp the drill in a vise and work something against a sanding disc using both hands. OSHA,MSHA and the ACLU are always claiming to protect workers, but I've never heard a peep out of any of them on that button. Come to think of it neither has the consumer product saftey comission.
Al, I realize this isn't the proper time to say this, but if that drill breaks a 3rd finger you know where the problem is.
Mike

you know one could take a dremmel tool and just grind that button away may just do that on my hole shooter i feel like Al enough don't need a broken finger to go along with it
