Dad

Last Sunday my Dad passed away, he was 84. He was a deeply religious man, father of 8 (Roman Catholic):yum:

He was buried Friday about 400 miles from where he had lived for the past 25 years. My mother was buried in that town back in 1979, They now rest in peace together.

It was a large gathering, his surviving brother and sister were there, 15 grand children, several great grand children and us 8 kids (now old farts ourselves).

There is no family living in this small town, I was the last one to leave back in 1980. Dad was a very prominent member of the community, but I was still amazed at how many locals attended the funeral as so many years had passed.

My condolences. It sounds like he lived an good life and was appreciated by many. That says alot about a man.

Vin-
I am sorry for your loss. I hope you and your family get through this difficult time with many good thoughts of your father.

Really saddened to hear about your father Vin, god bless you and your family!

My condolences Vin. Sorry for your loss. Like others said it does sound like he lived a full life and will be remembered by many in a good way. :thumb: :tiphat:

Prayers for you and your whole family. I know how hard it can be, my Dad passed in Dec. '04 at 81 years, so yea, I feel ya. God bless.

Thanks everyone for your kind thoughts. Yes, I think he did live a full life. We are all thankful he died quite suddenly without suffering too much.

Vin, we are sorry for your loss. It is obvious your dad was wealthy beyond his imagination as demonstrated by the respect shown of the many people he touched.

Sorry to hear about your dad. Hope all is well with you and your family.

Someone once said "It's not what you gather, it's what you scatter"

Sounds like he left a lot of positive things with many. :thumb:

I'm so sorry to hear the news Vin. Just last year I lost my grandparents. I'm not even close to being able to handle losing my parents. I wish you the best. It sounds from your post that your father enjoyed a full life and touched many people.

You have my condolenscenes, too, Vin. Your story sounds a lot like my father's funeral. There were people lined up out the door. I talked with each one of them and afterwards it was very helpful to know that my Dad had touched so many others' lives.

Its never easy losing a loved one, no matter how long and full their life was. Sorry for your loss.

hey Vin, we have something in common. I'm one of 8 kids too
